Ben's 90s Guitar
This is my friend Ben Porter's 90s strat which he bought new originally in..well, the early 90s. It started it's life as a 'Strat Plus' which had all modern appointments. Over time Ben began getting rid of the modern features and changed them to more vintage styling. Ben approached me to relic only the chrome hardware and plastic elements with the intent that he would continue to age the rest of the guitar natually. The idea here was to age these parts ever so lightly to match the actual age of the guitar and Ben's specific playing style. One little surprise was in the results of the neck back plate where you will notice many small surface scratches. These scratches were not at all visible when I got the guitar. In fact, it looked like a shiny new neck plate. After applying my aging process, all of the surface scratches became highly accentuated. What's beautiful about this is that these were not scratches which I created, but rather all Ben's doing. My aging application simply enhanced the actual marks of Ben's playing time and years with the guitar.
Aged Bridge and Pickup Closeup
This bridge, saddles, screws and pickup cover have all been aged to conform to this guitar's age and ben's playing.
Aged Neck Back Plate
The surface scratches on this back plate are a natural occurrence from Ben's playing. The aging process I applied caused them to be accentuated and pop out.
Light Aged Output Jack
Output Jack is only lightly aged to confirm to Ben's actual usage of the guitar and the guitar's age
Pickup covers are lightly scratched and darkened with brownish tones, which can happen after much exposure to sunlight and gigging in smokey rooms. Note that in this case, the pickup poles have not been aged since Ben wanted to age them naturally over time.
Lightly Aged Tuners
Tuners have been lightly aged to confirm to Ben's actual usage of the guitar and the guitar's age
